Importing Your Pet into Australia from a Category 3 Country

As standard, there is a mandatory 180 day wait process for all pets entering Australia. This means you should get in touch with us within 7-12 months prior to your relocation date. This will give us enough time to start the delicate process of the regulatory framework including vetwork requirements, certificates, permits, quarantine bookings and any onward flight bookings from Melbourne to your new home.
What are the Differences for Category 3?
Depending on what country you are coming from will depend on the process and entry requirements into Australia. As such, all Category 3 pets need to supply ID verification, rabies vaccination records, RNATT blood test and declarations as the first step. Category 3 pets are also required to quarantine for 30 days, however they may be eligible for 10 days depending if the appropriate government approved ID checks are met. What Countries are Classified as Category 3 That Jetpets Currently Service?
Belgium, Canada, Cayman Islands, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia (Czech Republic), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Qatar, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom Great Britain, United Kingdom Northern Ireland and United States of America (excluding Guam and Hawaii).
It’s important to note that Jetpets are not currently servicing all Category 3 countries. If you do not find your country above, there may be an opportunity for your pet to travel into a Category 2 country and then onto Australia. What is the Process for a Category 3 Import?

We can facilitate a full door-to-door service which includes collection from your home, airport check-in, collection from the quarantine facility, airport check in for any onward flights around Australia and drop off services to your new home.
Jetpets Can Transport Your Pets From Quarantine to Your New Home
Every dog and cat that enters Australia from countries other than Category 1 pets require a 10 or 30 day stay at The Australian Quarantine Facility in Mickelham, Victoria. This means that regardless of where you are moving to in Australia, your pets must fly into Melbourne, Victoria first to quarantine. Once your pets have successfully completed their quarantine stay, our Pet Handlers will collect your pets and deliver them to your new home in Victoria. If your pets require onward travel, our Pet Handlers will check them into their domestic flight, collect them from their destination airport and deliver them to your door step.
