What Is An Airport To Airport Service?

This service has been designed for those travelers that are happy to arrange the drop off and collection of their pets to and from the airport and widely used for those clients travelling with their pets. Our team will work with you to arrange your pets flights that best suit your travel plans.

Is It Safe To Fly Pets In Hot Weather?

Jetpets have been safely transporting pets for over 30 years and have proven processes and policies in place to ensure the safe transport of pets. Our heat policy ensures that your furbaby will not be exposed to any prolonged periods of heat during their travel.

Our policy stipulates where there are extreme hot temperatures forecast, pets must be in the air by 9am. Speak to our pet travel consultants to discuss your specific requirements. In making any changes to your pet’s itinerary, their safety, comfort and welfare is our number one priority.

Can My Pet Be Delayed In Transit?

Delays and Cancelations when my pet is flying interstate

Jetpets operate 24/7 and will not leave your Furbaby stranded when flights are delayed or cancelled. Unfortunately, airlines do have delays and cancelations for multiple reasons including the most common being weather.

Where delays and cancelations occur, our Jetpets Pet Handlers will ensure your pet is collected from the airport and safely looked after back at the Jetpets Transit Lounge.  Our team will arrange another flight or transport your furbaby back to the airport where there is an extended delay (ie: 3 hours or more).

What Happens At The Jetpets Transit Lounge?

Jetpets provides designated Transit Lounge facilities across Australia to keep your pets relaxed and to offer them some time out of the crate when they are on their way to and from their destination. Our state of the art facilities allow travelling pets (and their fur-parents) to visit when they are checking in for travel, visiting our vets for any treatments and health checks required for their travel.

Our Transit Lounges can accommodate overnight stays where pets have an early morning flight or late arrival from their departure location.  Our facilities are air conditioned, climate controlled and in ideal locations near the major airports for comfort stops.

Pet Boarding During Summer Peak Season For Defence Members

Jetpets are proud to assist our dedicated Defence Force members with their pet transportation across Australia and also arranging their pet boarding as part of our service. Each year during the summer months, boarding is extremely popular for travellers moving interstate and holidaying around Australia.

It is important to remember that when you receive your Defence Posting to contact Jetpets immediately and advise us if you require pet boarding.  We can book this in advance for you to ensure your pet is accommodated as many locations including Darwin, Townsville and Brisbane will have very limited spaces available during these busy summer months.

Can You Arrange Pet Accommodation When I’m Travelling?

Jetpets work with many Pet Accommodation Facilities all around Australia. We will discuss with you the most appropriate facility based on your pets’ individual needs and requirements. It is important to decide if the accommodation is short or long term as this can also determine the most appropriate location based on your budget and needs.

Many Pet Accommodation Facilities (location dependant) may offer several types of boarding packages that you can choose from.  Dogs and Cats must have their vaccinations up to date to be eligible to enter pet boarding facilities, C5 for Dogs and F3 for cats. Please speak with your Jetpets Pet Travel Consultant if you have any further questions or concerns about the vaccinations required.

What Updates Will I Receive During My Pet’s Travel?

We understand that Pets are part of the family and you may be concerned about their welfare during their transportation. That’s why Jetpets can send updates to you depending on your pets personalised travel itinerary.

The types of Pet Updates you can expect is dependent on your pet’s individual travel itinerary and may be sent via SMS and/or email. These updates may include:

  • Check-in at the airport
  • Collection from the airport
  • Drop-off at your pets accommodation/boarding facility
  • An update on how your pet was during their comfort stop at our Transit Lounge
  • Notification that we have collected your pet from the Australian Quarantine facility and check in at the airport
  • Delivery at residence

*Pet travel updates are applicable when the pet is travelling via a Jetpets transit lounge location, and where the itinerary is for a transit lounge or door-to-door service. And before you know it, your beloved pet will be back for lots of cuddles and kisses, in your arms again, ready to start their new adventure with you wherever you may be!

Please speak with your Jetpets Pet Travel Consultant upon booking your pets travel so they can advise of the Pet Updates you will receive.

Do My Pets Require Vaccinations When Travelling Interstate In Australia?

It is not mandatory (except when entering Tasmania) for pets to be vaccinated for specific treatments, although it is highly recommended that you consult with your veterinarian when you are conducting your health check to discuss what vaccinations may be required, especially if you are planning pet accommodation.

Treatments such as C5 for cats and F3 for Dogs are required for pets to gain entry into a pet accommodation/boarding facility and depending on your destination heartworm, flea and tick treatments may also be recommended by your local veterinarian.

How Much Notice Is Required For Interstate Pet Travel?

Moving interstate with your Pet can be straight forward if you are well prepared! Our highly qualified Jetpets team will generally be able to assist you with short notice, as long as your pet is fit, healthy and able to travel. We would recommend a minimum of two business days’ notice to arrange your pet transport.

The most important aspect to consider when preparing for any travel is your pets current health status. It is also highly recommended for all dogs and cats to be up to date with their vaccinations and is a requirement if your pet needs boarding/accommodation before or after their journey.
