Why Book Qantas Pet Travel with Jetpets Australia?

As Jetpets are an approved pet transport provider with Qantas we are able to book your flights directly through their booking systems. Our pet travel service not only can include booking pet travel but arranging collection from your residence and delivery if required to most domestic locations across Australia.

Jetpets can also arrange your pet travel crate hire, advise on crate sizing and complete all the necessary documentation required to make the process easy for you. We also have a handy Pet Travel Crate Calculator & Measurement Tool to help you find the right size pet travel crate.

Pet Travel Crate Requirements When Travelling with Qantas

Qantas will require that your pet travels in an accredited Pet Travel Crate. Jetpets have and can provide the appropriate crate sizes that are airline approved for your pet’s travel. Pets need to be able to sit, lie down and comfortably turn around in their pet travel crate to be accepted by the airlines. Our team will assist you in selecting the most suitable travel crate for your pet’s journey.

FAQs for Pets Travelling with Qantas Airways

Can My Pet Fly in the Cabin With Qantas?

No. All pets are required to be in airline approved IATA crates for their domestic travel across Australia, with the exception of service dogs that will require special permission directly from the airline. For more information visit the Qantas Airways Travelling with a guide, assistance or hearing dog page.

Which Dog Breeds Can’t Fly with Qantas?

Qantas does have policies in place in relation to specific breeds not being able to travel and these include:-

  • Pit Bull and American Pit Bull Terriers

American Staffordshire Terriers (full or cross breed) must be transported in a CR-82 reinforced cage or an airline approved guard dog cage before flying. All pets need to be at least 12 weeks old before they are able to fly and for pets older than 12 years will need a vet certificate stating your pet is healthy enough to fly. Speak to our pet consultants who can assist you through this process.

What Happens if My Pet’s Qantas Flight is Delayed, or Cancelled?

When booking your flights through Jetpets, we will ensure that we are in communication with you where Qantas notifies us of any delays or cancelations.
